Popseco and Sustainability:
A Green Responsibility
A fundamental parameter in the development of POPSECO is our commitment to achieving the highest level of sustainability throughout the entire value chain.
The organic ingredients are carefully developed and sourced with sustainability in mind from the very beginning. We continuously explore and test ways to take the next step in that direction. For example, we are currently investigating how local fruit waste materials can be used as a basis for our pulp and flavors.
Packaging presents the next challenge, and we have already taken initial steps in this area. The paper packaging is made from FSC-certified paper, ensuring that it is based on responsible forestry practices.
The plastic packaging used for freezing the ice creams needs to be of a specific quality to retain the liquid and ensure good shelf life, thus minimizing food waste. This plastic is reusable, and its thickness is minimized to use as little material as possible. We continuously investigate if there are other products on the market that can provide the necessary quality in a more sustainable way.
The other parts of the value chain are being evaluated, and every decision is examined for a better and more sustainable alternative—not because we have to, but because it is deeply ingrained in our values.
